Aside from our expansive collection of books, DVD's & Audiobooks, Southport Library is also home to several unique collections referencing our history and the lives of some of Southport's most famous and beloved residents.

The Bayberry Collection

Our original book collection donated by the Zabriskie sisters back in 1906 that began the Bayberry Camp Library and later became Southport Memorial Library..

Gustaf Tenggren Collection

Tenggren’s illustrations were key in bringing Snow White, Pinnochio,& Bambi to life at Walt Disney Studios. He was inducted in the Illustrators Hall of Fame in 1970.

Rachel Carson Collection

Author of Silent Spring (1962) and called for a change in the way humankind viewed the natural world. Her summer cottage in Southport, inspired Silent Spring.
